Attempt to make an engine

Couldn't find a way to convert linear force in to rotational force(i even tried to make a crankshaft but failed ... it did work to some extent but i couldn't get the timing right so it kept going back so i gave up because i couldn't make a timing belt ...) if anyone can make an actual engine i would like to see it.
